Flatten Me- Owl Always Love You

“It is your story, step on in”.

That is just what the people over at Flatten Me believe.

Flatten Me is a site that specializes in personalized items.  Items such as books, water bottles, Tshirts, Cards and wall art.  It all came about when the CEO & Founder of FlattenMe.com’s husband filmed their daughter eating a gobstopper.  He took several pictures and then turned this into a book.  Their daughter loved it and carried it with her faithfully, until it wore out.

I was able to see first hand what one of their books were like.

The book I was sent was called “Owl always love you”.  The book takes the name of your child and puts it on the cover in the title.  I received one for my nephew Elijah.

disclaimer:  I received a book from flatten Me before writing this review.  I wasn’t required to give a positive review and all opinions are 100% my own.

As you can see it is really cute.  This book is a bedtime story for little night owls.

Not only is the name on the cover, but his name is used throughout the whole book.  The book has wonderful illustrations by Erica Leighton and was written by Robyn Spizman.  The book is written in rhyme and it talks about love all the way through.  You will find illustrations of the owl with cows and kittens and in all sorts of positions. Didn’t mean to rhyme there!  What did I love more then the fact that the book used Elijah’s name throughout it?

I loved the fact that I was able to put a customized saying in the front of the book.

Here is what I had put on the one I received for my nephew:

I wish I had put “Owl Always Love You!  But I think Elijah got the message. Either way.

When making the dedication I was able to make it 6 lines with no more then 35 characters per line.  I thought that was generous and came out cute.  What do you think?

I love personalized gifts and this is an item that is so worth it.  It is something that someone can and probably will keep for years to come.  It is available in paperback for $29.95 and Hardback for $39.95.

RIght now FlattenMe is having a special Back to School sale where you can get 20% off your order when you use the code “Back2School”  at the check out!

You Can Have It All! Fitness Edition by Nadia Murdock

It is no secret that I have  struggled with my weight most of my life.  I have talked about that several times now.  I am always looking for the next best thing.  I know there is no miracle drug out there that is going to instantly transform me while I sleep.  It is going to take hard work and dedication on my part.  I will continue to use the different tools out there to help me reach my goals, but one thing I must work on the most, other then eating, is exercise.

At this point I am more worried about my health in general other then looking good in jeans.  I lost my Dad when he was only 42  because of his heart.  I lost my sister when she was 43 due to her heart.  My Mother just had a pacemaker put in.  A couple weeks ago my brother in law was put in the hospital because of his heart and now he is at home with a heart monitor on.  This is all scary to me.

That is why I was so inspired by a book I was recently sent by Nadia Murdock.  The book is called You Can Have it All: Fitness Edition.  what makes this book different then all the other books out there?  For me it was real.

disclaimer:  I received a free copy of this book before writing this review.  I wasn’t required to write a positive review and all opinions are 100% my own.

Several books I have read goes too fast.  They are for people that is advanced in fitness and to be honest I get overwhelmed and lost.  In Nadia’s book she writes it with everyone in mind.  No matter what level you are!

This book is very inspirational.  As  well as talking about fitness & working out, she also adds expert advice from trainers such as Bob Harper from “The Biggest Loser” & Alyeca Ungaro of “Real Pilates”.

what else will you find?

  • Motivational Quotes
  • how to steps
  • advice on how to overcome obstacles (I love this because life seems to always be throwing curveballs!)

This book seriously has inspired and motivated me.  I encourage you to “>check it out

Nadia has been there and knows what she is talking about.  She has always been passionate about fitness after experiencing her own dramatic fluctuations in weight loss and gain she wanted to share the ways
fitness has become an important part of her life.

Not only has Nadia worked with fitness experts such as Bob Harper (A guy I would love to meet, I think haha),  renowned fitness instructor and author Marta Montenegro, Real Pilates’ Alyeca Ungaro, and Powerstrike’s Ilaria Montagnani.  She is also cofounder of cocoa zumba.

Nadia also wrote for the  New York Fitness Examiner in 2008 and in the same year launched her Fashion PR company.

I have had the pleasure with working with Nadia on a few projects now and have found out that  She is a very sweet caring person and I am glad to have got to know her.

I am also glad that I can share this book with you all.  So be sure and check it out!

Michal’s Window by Rachelle Ayala- review

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00021]

I was recently given the chance to do a book review.  This is a different review then I would normally do.  I love reading and it is my escape from reality.  When I read a book I am the main character.  I get lost to where I am at.  I like to read when I am alone and with no distractions.  It is my downtime.  That is why it was different for me to accept this review.  I don’t like someone telling me, you have to read this by this date.

Another thing different about this review is the book I read was/is bibical fiction.  This is something I don’t normally read, or if I do, I don’t discuss it on the blog.  However for some reason I decided to do this one.

The book I reviewed was called “Michal’s Window (A Novel: King David’s First Wife) and was written by Rachelle Ayala.

I do have to admit the love story in this book could really hold you in.

Another thing about this book is while it is a bible fiction.  It doesn’t preach at you and if you like historical fiction or romance, then I believe you would really love this book.

You will read the story of King David’s first wife.  It starts from when Michal first meets David when he was a young harpist or musician.  You will meet Saul, David’s father and you will see all they have to go through to be together.  Including Saul even wanting David put to death only because he was jealous of him.

It will take you on an adventure as you see a young shepherd boy finally become king.

As I said, if you like romance or historical fiction, then you will probably love this book.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
