Are you a finicky eater? I have never really been. There is very few things I will not eat. That is my biggest downfall. I even love veggies, but where I go wrong there is the way I love to prepare them. The more bacon grease the better. Yeah, I know…..
I was never much on steamed vegetables. I didn’t care for the crunchy ones that tasted raw to me. Those mainly served in restaurants. Then as I got older, I realized that cooking a veggie until it was mush loaded with fat and salt, was defeating the purpose. In fact most of the nutrition in a vegetable when it is RAW.
While I don’t think I will ever do the RAW diet, and I don’t mind having raw veggies with ranch from time to time. I have progressed in my cooking.
In fact I started using a steamer. Yes, I did!
The steamer I am using is from Moderno. It folds for easy storage and cleans up easy. That is important to me! It is easy to use. Put a small amount of water in a sauce pan. Sit the steamer on top of that. Don’t let the water emerge through the holes, but instead steam. Put your veggies in and steam to your desired tenderness. I tend to still leave my veggies on there a bit longer, I just can’t get used to crunchier veggies with my meals.
Just using this and eliminating the grease has saved my heart a lot of work and my behind a lot of weight!
If you don’t have a steamer and you are trying to make small changes – then I do suggest this one! It is available on Amazon for only $9.99 and FREE SHIPPING.
Well worth the buy in my opinion.
