This post is for all the foodies out there.
While I love all types of foods, one thing that I think I will never grow tired of is one of Americas favorite food. That all American Hamburger. And while many places can make a mean burger. There is times I rather just make my own at home.
So, not sure if it is a Kentucky thing, but most of the time we just grab a bunch out of the pack and make our own patties. Sometimes this results in huge too thick burgers or just a plate of awkward burgers. It also means some is larger then others, some is raw or some is burnt.
While there is other burger presses on the market. My favorite to date is one I got for review. It is a silicone one from wonder grill. Along with this silicone press they even include a food umbrella that is perfect for cook outs.
While I haven’t cooked out in a while now, I do like to have burgers pressed out and ready to grab. Sure, you can buy frozen hamburger patties but do you always know what your getting with those? With this easy to use press, I can put whatever type of meat I want in there. Turkey burger, lean or fat. I am in control and I like that!
I have been using mine and it works good. I press out the patties, throw wax paper in between them, put them in the freezer bag and freeze them. They are easy to get apart. The press itself is easy to use and easy to clean. It is available on Amazon

I can remember when I was younger, my favorite thing was drinking a coke/pepsi out of a glass bottle. I don’t remember if they were 12 or 16 ounces, but they were a treat. At that point in my life I guzzled and didn’t sip. Now as an adult, I tend to drink more slowly. This can sometimes cause those 12 ounce bottles to get warmer then I like. As with any problem, this is a solution.
The solution I have found is to keep my bottles in this 12 oz stainless steel bottle insulator. If you are looking to get a flask check out this Hydro Flask and Yeti comparison. It works for any 12 ounce bottle. soda, beer – anything! I put one in there to test it out and the bottle did stay cool all day. I had no problem putting the bottle in it or taking it out. It is safe in there.

Here is the million dollar question. Do you like to eat cake, make cake or both? I would have to say I love to eat cake! But I have always wanted to be able to decorate a cake like I see in the bakery. My Mom could do a great job as well as my younger Sister. I never had the patience when I was younger. Now that I am middle aged I haven’t given up. I have a couple sets of cake tips that I practice with.
Recently I was sent another set to review.
This was a really nice set! It is available on Amazon for only $11.90. When I seen the price I thought that they wouldn’t be that good. But this set of tips is really nice. It comes with everything you would need. Even a nice case with dividers. Along with all the special tips, bags and case, they also offer a year warranty. For $11.90 who can argue with that?
These tips I am talking about are from Funcake.. It is a 30 in one cake decorating supply tips. It is so far the only kit with a year guarantee.
Here is more about it
In my opinion it is really worth it. Would make a perfect present for yourself or the baker in your life.
Now tell me… Do you like to eat cake, bake cakes or decorate cakes????

Art comes in all kinds of forms. Drawing, Singing, Painting, Photography, Dancing and even cooking. It depends on the person and what they enjoy or what they have time to enjoy.
I know a lot of Wives that has talent in several of these areas, but due to work and raising a family, they have to put their dreams on hold. Their hobbys on the back burner. I have also seen these same women, turn their talents into food art. The internet is full of “foodies” and all their delicious and gorgeous food creations!
Do you ever sit there watching those videos and think you would like to try that? If I was to start following something – I would end up steering in my own direction and make the recipe my own.
I will admit, I have more fails when it comes to food recipes, then I have successes. One thing I can play with and not do major harm to is cakes or cupcakes. There is all kinds of fun pans and molds and different things I can do with these recipes. I can even play around at decorating them.
One thing I now own is Russian Piping tips. This is a 15 piece set of cake tips that can be used in several ways.
Here is more about them from the company:
These tips are available on Amazon for around $14.99.
This is a nice set to have around. I really have no complaints. They are worth the price they are charging and something every foodie needs in their kitchen.

I am sure many of us has heard the expression, “He/She knows where His/Her bread is buttered”. I thought of that saying when I seen this higher end butter knife/honey dipper set.
In a nice black gift box you will find a nice, heavy butter knife. On the tip is a tiny hole. On one side is like a slicer on the opposite side is tiny holes. No matter if you want a bit of butter or a lot of butter – or if you want to make your butter fancy – this knife will do it.
Now I said high end. To me it was a nice knife that would be a perfect gift for a wedding shower or even a housewarming party. At 20 plus dollars it isn’t bad for a gift. I do have to say that I have never spent over $20.00 on a butter knife. I think that is more up to the individual.
The knife works well. John didn’t care for the side with the holes in it. He said too much butter stays in their holes and wastes it. For me I like the side with the holes. I think it is a perfect way to fancy up ordinary things.
I am focusing mainly on the knife. I think it is the star of this set. Don’t get me wrong. The honey dipper is nice and does what a honey dipper does. It is something we will use quite a bit. John eats honey just about once a day so it will be useful.

How much do you think is too much for a good butter knife? Let me know in the comments below!
What is your favorite beverage?
I drink a lot of pop and I know that isn’t healthy for me. Even the diet drinks that I try to reach for isn’t doing my body good. Now that this infused water pitcher has came into my life, I have options.
I can keep a pitcher of water in the fridge and in the middle I can put my favorite fruit. I can make tea with lemon in the middle. I can make fresh lemonade and add fresh lemons to the middle. When I have that ready to grab, I reach less for the diet cola that I can’t stop buying.
This is a nice pitcher. Not only does it motivate me to drink healthier. It is just an all around great pitcher. It is shatter proof. While I was too chicken to accidentally drop it on purpose, I can feel how thick and sturdy it is made.
I love it and would suggest it to anyone in the market for a new pitcher.

There is nothing I like more then a nice gallon of sun tea!
A nice glass of iced tea has always been a hit in our family. I remember as a child making the tea was one job I always had. Now 40 something I realize standing there stirring the tea while my Mom cooked, is a memory I will always treasure.
We didn’t always have sun tea. We boiled a lot on the stove or ran it through our coffee pot. Later on we even had a tea maker. One that you put the ice in and it brews.
The reason I am talking tea tonight is because of a certain pitcher that came into my life. It is the low profile Upright/Side iced tea pitcher with removable strainer.
Here is what it is:
It really is all that and more. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in. It is made of a durable plastic. I wanted to really test it out, but I was scared to lay it sideways. I did anyway. I was happy to find out no leaking!
While I talked tea mainly in this post, this works for any beverage of your choice. Kool Aid, Lemonade, Tea or just water. Your choice! I like this pitcher and if your looking for a new one, I would suggest this one!

If you do any cooking, you will know that one thing that you need is a colander. I have some plastic ones and even a bamboo one. But I wanted a stainless steel one. A colander is something I don’t think of when I am out shopping but when I go to drain something I wish I had of! My chance to own a stainless steel one came in the form of a review.
Pro Chef had one they wanted to send me to test out.
This is a nice one. I like it for many reasons. It is a 3 quart one, so a perfect size for John & Me. It has wide handles and big ones at that. This makes for easy holding. It even has a nice base that not only gives it a nice look, but keeps it sturdy when sitting in my sink. Another thing I like about this colander/strainer is the holes in it. I don’t have to worry about food slipping through the holes because they are too large.
This one cost $15.95 on Amazon. In my opinion this is a good price. Anything that is quality made is, and this is one of those things.

From childhood until even now, one of my favorite breakfast foods was the scrambles my Mom used to make. These were just scrambled eggs poured in a skillet of crumbled sausage or bacon. They were fast and easy and oh so good.
But then there is the Omelet. Kind of like a sophisticated scramble. Not so messy looking and looks pretty on a plate. Not everyone can do this. I learned how to do one at the age of 19. I was working 3rd shift at a truck stop as a cook. I had no idea how much people loved their omelets until then. Especially around 2:30 and 3:00 am when the bars were closing.
I did learn how to do a decent omelet, but once I stopped working there I had no need to do it anymore. I had lost the hang of it.
That brings me to now. I recently was sent an omelet pan to test out. This is a skillet. It is 2 half moons. that closes on top of each other. You just flip it over when one side is done. This way you don’t risk tearing up that pretty omelet.
I tried it out. I believe with practice it may work good. But I had a couple problems. I think I flipped it too soon and some egg leaked out. I decided I needed to leave the opposite side a bit longer on the burner and ended up with a golden brown omelet. At least on the one side.
The skillet itself is nice one. It doesn’t stick and wipes out great. It looks nice, is heavy and just well made. I believe it will last a long time. It may not be something I would personally just buy myself. But is really worth a mention for the omelet lovers out there.
While I discussed omelets this is also good for a variety of other things. The folded side could serve as a lid for anything you are making.
If you are a foodie you should really go to Amazon and check this Omelet pan from TECHEF out! While your there you can learn more about it by reading other peoples reviews.

I am a collector of plastics. I feel like you just can’t have too many storage containers, boxes etc.
This Bento Lunch Box is now my favorite box for saving leftovers in. John and I tend to always have leftovers after dinner. With this box I can have leftovers for lunch the next day.
The lid fits perfectly on it. I love how the sides snap down securing a tight fit and leak proof at that.
It holds quite a bit, each compartment is deeper. What really impressed me was how I could put spaghetti sauce in one compartment, spaghetti in the larger compartment and meatballs in the 3rd. This kept it separated until I was ready to heat it (in the microwave) –
Clean up is just as easy in the dishwasher.
If you are a collector of plastics. Have leftovers or tend to pack your lunch, this is a great bento lunchbox. I have to say one of the best I have owned so far.
