A couple months ago I was given the chance to try out a rug of my choice from https://www.southwesternrugsdepot.com/. I was so excited because I had only heard good things about them. They are the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats, and washable rugs in the US.
Check out this Still Made in the US video
I was able to pick out which rug I wanted and that was really the hardest part. I have all wood floors in Kentucky, all ceramic tile here in Panama and tons of rooms in both places that these rugs would go PERFECT in.
So what did I decide? I decided to really put this review to the test and surprise my 10 year old niece and 6 year old nephew with a new rug . It was close to Christmas so this was one of the items that I showed up with on Christmas morning.
While it was really hard to decide which on to choose I settled on one called the Mohawk Strata Obert Rug
I chose this one because I thought the colors would be neutral for a girl and boy and also I loved the bright colors. I thought this would go perfect in their family room A.K.A. Play room.
I have to say the person I talked to in the company was so nice, if everyone in Mohawk is as sweet then customer service must be rated high within their company.
Delivery was speedy and it was well wrapped. It showed up the night we made it into Kentucky and was just off the plane. The driver brought it to my mom’s where we were visiting and we were able to put it in our rental car and carry it in along with our suitcases when we made it to the house.
Then comes Christmas morning. Here John and I are carrying in presents and here comes this big rug with a gift bag that was meant for a bicycle. It worked haha.. Of course the kids curiosity was in overdrive.. what could it be. I do have to be honest in the reactions. My niece is more into fashion so she was I think more impressed then her brother. A rug is more of a gift that is appreciated after the fact when it comes to children. Elijah was more interested in what toys he ended up with.
The funny thing is that after the holiday was over and the kids had a chance to use the rug some, I asked my sister to send me some photographs. She sent me a few that I will add to the post so you can see, but a couple nights later she sends me this picture:
I asked her if she staged it and she said she didn’t. Elijah had been playing with his toys and she seen them all set up like that and had to get a picture. I have always heard a picture is worth a 1000 words, and this picture shows me that Elijah was enjoying playing with his toys on the Mohawk rug.
If you have a child in your life you know there is going to be messes. Things get stained. No matter how hard you try to prevent it – life gets messy. This particular rug is 100% Nylon. When there is a spill all you need to do is spot clean it with a mild detergent.
I am so glad to see that the kids really enjoyed their present, one that will last for a long time.
I would like to send out a huge Thank you to Mohawk rugs for giving me this opportunity! Another thing I would like to thank them for is because they are going to be giving away a rug to one of Shopping Wives readers!
Yes, you read that right. Mohawk Rugs is giving one of Shopping wives readers up to a 5×8 rug valued at $100.00 or under, of their choice. This giveaway is going to last for 3 weeks, so you will have several times to enter. Of course I am using rafflecopter so be sure and come back throughout the 3 weeks because some options you can do once everyday and this will give you a larger chance to win!
I believe Makayla and Elijah are saying #ilovemymohawkrug – I hope you will be too!
Disclaimer: I received a rug free of charge before writing this post. I wasn’t required to write a positive review and all opinions are 100% my own and may differ from yours
