Go to the doctor at home with Amwell

Would you consider going to a doctor online?  I had heard of this in the past, but had never tried out the system myself.  I think it was mainly because I didn’t know how trustworthy the people on the other side of my screen was.

Now I know how to watch out for real and for scams and I do know there is indeed places and people that can be trusted.

I sometimes put off making an appointment for doctors visits.  I think the procrastinator in me doesn’t like making the appointment, going to the office, waiting in the waiting room an hour past my appointment, waiting in the office another half hour.  Going through so many things.  Especially when it is for something that I need an opinion or advice on.

Amwell kind of makes the doctors come to me!  It is like a modern day house call.

Amwell has doctors that specialize in several areas.  Medical, Diet & Nutrition, Psychology, Primary Care, Therapy, dermatology & Pediatrics.

Signing up is simple!

Go to Amwell

enter in your information (name, location, birthday, gender)

set up a password

and you are ready to start looking.

For example.  I clicked on Diet & Nutrition.  I found these Doctors:

When you click on the provider, you will find out more about them.  When you find one you like, you can choose that person.

They do have special hours Mondays 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and this is Eastern time.

Once you have decided on your provider, you will then make an appointment.  You will also leave a note telling about your problem, the provider will read this before he/she sees you (via webcam)

I think doing this through Amwell, it can be even more personal between patient and doctor.  You are connected to them and can really concentrate and let them know what is going on while you are safe and comfortable in your own space.  The doctor then can give you their most professional diagnoses, treatment, thoughts and will stay in contact with you through email.

I was concerned about prescriptions.  92% is already allowing this to happen online!  How cool is that?

Would I use Amwell?  Yes I would!  How about you?  Would you go to an online doctor?  Let me know in the comments below!
