Fitness Fridays, Few and far between….

It has been a while since

I talked any about how it is going on the weight loss journey for me.  I was thinking that by putting things out there on my blog that I would be more accountable and was sure for success. 

There is a few road blocks that I know that I can overcome when I really work on them.  The one thing that really stands in my way and always has is something called EXCUSES.

I started reading a new book

last night.  I will tell you more about that later after I get more into it.  I have only read a small bit of it and it has already proven to motivate me to actually move, exercise.  Find something fun and do it! 

Other than

fitness I have all the tools I need available at weight watchers online.  I know I have talked before about the point system and all the wonderful apps available now.  I need to get more into the online community and really get with like minded people.

You know these fad diets come and go, but there is one name that has always came up, not just recently but throughout the years!  And that name is weight watchers.  It is funny, Even the book I am reading,  You can have it all by Nadia Murdock,  mentioned Weight watchers!  And it was mentioned as a good thing, learning to eat right.

I can even remember

my mom telling the story of how her and her sister went to the meetings and lost.  Theirs was a funny story though.  This had to be back in the 70s, I am positive it was before the point system.  Now I don’t mean to make my mom and aunt look crazy here but they were going to weekly meetings.  They were given a menu to follow of what they should be eating during the day.  Somehow my mom got the measurements mixed up.  She was preparing my aunts meals.  Instead of giving her a serving of spinach in which my aunt really disliked, she was giving her a whole can!  I may be messing up the measurements here,  Either way my aunt couldn’t stand spinach and was actually gagging to get it down.  They went to the meeting the following week and each had lost an excessive amount of weight.  After talking about their menus and what they were doing my mom told about the serving sizes and they then found out they didn’t actually have to eat all she was putting on the plate.  It is funny hearing her tell about that time!

While that is funny, it also shows me we can eat certain foods all we want we just have to know what we can eat.  What we should watch out for.  Some things us emotional eaters can binge on and while it may not be the best way to deal with emotions at least we know what is healthy and what is not. Note:  I am not responsible for anyone that decides to binge on spinach tonight!

I am by no means an expert.

I am just someone that needs to push herself more and is learning as she goes.  One thing I am learning more and more that out of all the weight loss programs out there, that most people recommend Weight Watchers Online!
