Don”t forget to carry along Picnic Mat on all your summer adventures!

Summer is in full swing now.  That means all the fun summer stuff is also in full swing.  Baseball games and picnics.  Family vacations, amusement parks and swimming pools.  All of these things have one thing in common.  That is the fact that they are mainly done outdoors.

While all the things that summer brings are usually fun.  It is usually up to us to make sure the family has everything they need. Sunblock and bottled water is just a couple things we probably always have on hand.  Those 2 things are probably something that everybody remembers to take a long with them.

But there is always something that we should have on hand that most people doesn’t think of until it is too late.  That is a Matt or table cloth to eat on.   Now I am not trying to “gross you out”,  but do you really want to eat your sandwich on the same picnic table that the young Mom may have changed her babies diaper on?  Or how about the young couple that decided it would make the perfect “make out” place.  While we don’t usually think about things like that —- it happens!

So what can you do?

Maybe carrying around a can of Lysol and a table cloth isn’t always doable.  There is things that you can do.  For example there is a product from Handy Mat on Amazon.  It is 2 picnic Mats in a package and I think they cost about $19.99.    The mats aren’t huge like a tablecloth.  This makes them easy to stuff in your purse, backpack or duffle bag.  They aren’t meant to cover the whole table but they will cover enough to protect your items from touching the dirty tables.

  • Each mat is 24″x17″, very light (only 14 oz for 2 mats), durable & sturdy plastic sheet 1/8″ (4 mm) thick. Sets up in seconds to 48″x17″ or 24″x34″.
  • EASY CLEAN, EASY CARE, WATER PROOF – Ketchup, mustard, mayo – no problem. Wipes clean in seconds. No mess, no odors, no stress !
  • COMPACT & CONVENIENT – Mat folds in half to 12″x17″ for easy storage.

I have a couple of them and they really do come in handy.  While I haven’t had the chance to go on a big picnic with the family, I have put it on our bench picnic table outside for John and myself to eat on.  If you do a lot  of things during the summer then you may really want to check these out!
