If you look up “nervous cooker”, in the dictionary, you might find my picture. I say that because I care what other people think about my cooking more then if it pleases me or not. With John I do experiment with my meals. I don’t care to make us a steak or other type of beef or pork. When other people are coming over, I tend to stick to something I know I am better at.
Things like a baked ham. A one pot meal with salads or easy sides. I rarely ever serve steaks when I know we are having dinner guests.
I have been playing with different ways to prepare my meat to make it perfection. We buy most of our meat from a company we both like.
I try different seasonings, rubs and marinades.
And now I beat it. I had tried the regular mallets before and they didn’t make much of a difference. But now I am using a 56 blade, stainless steel – tenderizer.
It is easy to use:
1. lay meat on cutting board
2. Press the 56 needle like tenderizer on top and press down.
It is as easy as that! This breaks down tissues that sometimes make meat tougher and it also helps when you marinade!
This tenderizer is also easy to clean and dishwasher safe. I think it might have been the key that I was needing to make that perfect steak. Who knows, maybe one day I will even serve company steaks! It is a great feeling to have confidence in your cooking!!!
This tool is a great addition to my kitchen and it is one that I would suggest to any “Meatatarian” out there!
