Bubba and the Mighty Lion from Dream Pets

From when my nephew was first brought home from the hospital, he slept in the same room as someone else.  His crib and baby bed was in his parents room.  As he got older he moved in the room with his older sissy Makayla and they had bunk beds.  Recently they moved into a new home and decided at 7 years old, he was old enough to have his own room.  He was excited at the idea of it, but when it came closer to bedtime, he started missing his sissy.  From what his mommy told me, she was having trouble keeping him in his own room.

That is why when I heard about Dream Pets, I thought immediately of Elijah.

Dream pets helps to promote sleep independence.

What is it exactly?  When you get a sleep pet you can choose between a cute playful puppy, a sweet magical cat or a not so ferocious but still a Mighty lion.  These stuffed animals are the child’s bring a long companion during the day and at night they are there with them to tackle sleeping in their own bed at night.  You can see more about them in this video:

I received a Mighty lion to send to my nephew so I could see first hand how this worked.  With the Mighty Lion he received a book, certificate and stickers.  Each night before bed he holds the lion and recites a poem.  The next morning when he has slept through the night without slipping back into sissy’s room, he receives a sticker on his certificate.  Once this certificate is filled up with stickers he will be a pro at sleeping in his own room.  Meanwhile the lion can be his life long friend.
