Birthday Cutters Giveaway!

First off I have to start this post by saying Happy Birthday to the little girl that holds a big piece of my heart.  My niece Makayla is officially 11 years old today.  This is the first year I can’t be with her to celebrate her special day.  While I am not physically with her today I made it a special day anyways.

I am a big fan of all the neat items that the Love Cooking Company has available.  Especially the innovation products that I have tried.  I talked about them here in case you aren’t sure what they are.

What does this have to do with Makayla’s Birthday?  Everything.  A few weeks ago Love Cooking Company came out with a newer product.  I was asked if I was interested in trying one of the 2 newer items.  The item I am talking about is Mrs. Fields Cookie Cuttables.  it is the ultimate cookie cutter for birthdays!  The cutter has all the letters for HAPPY BIRTHDAY and then also has 2 candles, 2 cakes  and 2 balloon cutters.  I thought in honor of Makayla I would celebrate her day by making sugar cookies and using the cutter.

I decided on a simple sugar cookie recipe.

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 eggs

It is really easy to make,  Just mix all the above and a mixing bowl and stir it up.  I did melt the butter in the microwave first. of course in this picture I was just getting ready to mix it up good.

Once it was mixed up good, I threw some flour in my workspace and put the mixture on it and needed adding flour to the mixture that was pretty sticky

then I got out the rolling pin

I then placed the birthday cuttables right onto the dough

After pressing it down I pulled the cutter up and this is what I had

My biggest problem with this was picking up the letters and putting them to the cookie sheet.  I broke the letters when I tried to move them.  So now I have my batter in the fridge and I am going to let it firm up some and then try again.  I really love the whole idea of these cuttables and I would recommend anyone buying them.  This is something you can use several times a year.  while I tried the birthday ones they also carry Christmas, Halloween and Easter cutters.  Easter is coming up so now would be the PERFECT time to purchase and have it ready to use.

I will not give up on the cuttables because it is really a clever product that is a great addition to anyone who likes to cooks, kitchen.  when they come out they should look like this:

I will be sure and update the picture once mine are decorated!  I can’t wait to tell Makayla I made her cookies for her birthday but I “eated” them haha!

UPDATE:  A couple hours later John tried and he is gloating because they came out perfect Smile
