Okay Shopping Wives, listen up!
I want to talk about bath tubs. Mine was getting so slippery to the point to where it was dangerous. Every time John or I used it, I was faced with the fear of one of us falling. I had tried different cleaners, I had tried those little rubber things you stick to the bottom. Nothing was working.
Then I found out about a Anti slip bathmat. This is a 28×16, Natural silicone anti slip bath matt.
I have to say that this is all that and more.
The first time John used it he came out smiling and said it works perfect. I have used it several times for baths and showers and it stays put, but more importantly makes it safer for me.
If you are searching for something such as this, it is available on Amazon for only $19.95 and worth it in my opinion. It will last a long time.

Was there or is there anything more fun then splashing through a mud puddle? Are you one of those people that loves a good thunderstorm? Who doesn’t mind letting the rain hit you in the face? I can’t dance, but if I could, dancing in the rain could be fun!
I guess there is times we can’t exactly forget everything and let the unexpected rain pour down on us, messing up our hair and washing off that NON waterproof makeup we may be wearing. Sometimes the company we keep doesn’t appreciate the drowned rat look. Especially if we are working in a field where appearance matters.
I must say that I was never one to own a umbrella. My reasoning was that by the time I got it up, walked to my destination and got it put away, I would be wet anyway. So I never owned one. Not even living in Panama where a storm could whip up at any time and go away just as fast.
But now I have found the perfect umbrella for me. This one is a Clongi umbrella. The thing that makes me like this one is the fact that it has an auto open and an auto close button. I push will open the umbrella. Another push will close it just as fast. It is plain black but stylish enough.. Another thing about it is it is windproof and made strong. You won’t have to worry about the wind hitting and it warping on you.
I have found this is the perfect umbrella to own when life just won’t allow you the time to go singing or dancing in the rain!!!!

I must admit that I had never heard of Turmeric until a couple months ago. Of course I heard about it from John. He had ordered a bottle off of Amazon for himself. After asking him about what it was it sounded like a great product, but I put it out of mind and went on. It seems like after I heard about it once, I heard about it 20 more times. All good things. If you are like me, then you may not know what it is.
Turmeric is an Indian perennial herb of the ginger family. They dry this out and prepare it and then it is made into herbal supplements, Herbal remedies and even a spice.
Many people have claimed how it has helped them with many health problems. Some of the things it has been claimed to help is things like arthritis, heart burn, joint pain, stomach ache, headache, depression, menstrual problems – and many many more!
I have to tell you what happened after John bought his bottle of Turmeric. Maybe three days later I was actually sent a bottle for review. I asked John to try these out and save the other ones he bought. The ones I was sent is from 100 Naturals.
These are supposed to have the highest potency of turmeric on the market. These also had Bioperine. This is something that helps the body absorb nutrients better.
He agreed to take these. He took 2 tablets a day. He has a hernia that really bothers him, since taking these he has not had to take a lot of anti acids that he was eating before. I have noticed this without him even telling me about it. The thing he was/is most amazed with is a place he has on his arm. It is like a little tumor type bump that was really getting large. Just since taking turmeric, it has decreased so much.
He knows I suffer from migraines and a few other problems that come along with aging. Now I know that I am also going to be adding turmeric to my diet.
If you are interested in trying out the ones from 100 Natural, they are available on Amazon and cost $17.45 a bottle. I think this is an amazing price for all the benefits that comes along with that bottle.

While Marilyn Monroe sang about diamonds being a girls best friend, I am over here singing, jewelry in general is my best friend!
Do you agree?
Seriously. A simple piece of jewelry can make a big difference. No matter if your wearing a Tee shirt or a long black dress, jewelry can make a statement!
I turned 13 in 1984. As you probably know, the 80’s style was ANYTHING GOES. One earring or two. Match – don’t match. Just be yourself and don’t worry about what other people think. Flea markets was my favorite place to find wild necklaces and earrings. Between my weekend finds and sharing my Mom’s caboodle of Avon jewelry – I was styling.
I soon learned my style: BOLD. Anything big and noticeable was what I noticed.
That is something I have carried into adult hood. The bolder the better. Bib necklaces caught my eyes, Statement necklaces make me happy! While I would probably wear them wether they were in style or not. I am happy to know that statement necklaces is really the in thing!
There is many reasons I love them:
Statement necklaces will absolutely turn a boring outfit into an eye popping outfit.
Turn simple jeans and tee shirts into a casual outfit.
Make me feel more confident when I am wearing them
Shows people that I am more approachable and a bit of fun
They are unique – chunky & attention grabbing (Like Me!)
One of my favorite Statement necklaces is from IDGIRL Jewelry. It costs about $27.99 and is available on Amazon. It has a vintage look and is a gem crystal tassel necklace
This necklace is made well, it isn’t as heavy as it looks, but heavy enough to be durable. It fits well around my neck when I use the extender that is on it. It depends where you want it to hang.
Is Jewelry your best friend?

Essential oils are really becoming quite popular. They are good for many different things.
Around the home they can be used in cleaning solutions, diffusers, laundry and even to deodorize the garbage can.
When you are suffering from common health problems, there is essential oils for most things. Menstrual cramps to joint pain and everything in between.
Even beauty experts are mentioning the benefits of essential oils in beauty treatments. Hair, nails, dry feet and other skin problems? There is an essential oil out there for it.
The list of oils and what they are good for is a plenty! While I haven’t used them all, I am starting a nice collection. They are great to have on hand and a small amount will go a long way.
Tonight I will tell you about 6 of my favorites
Tea Tree Oil
People use this oil to treat acne, remove makeup, on cuticles, to treat dry feet and even fungus infections. It is also great for psoriasis, yeast infection and my favorite oily hair.
John loves the smell of lavender and I agree. While it has a good smell, lavender also has other benefits. Benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety. Helps treat eczema, which is a really miserable thing to suffer with. One of my favorite things about this oil is that it helps with sleep. All insomnia sufferers should own a bottle of this!
This oil is often used as a sedative and a antiseptic. Some people use it as a diuretic. Orange oil is used for people with depression. And yes I have a favorite thing about this oil. It is also considered an aphrodisiac! With that said, be sure and have this available on date nights and romantic dinners!
You might find asthma patients with this oil in their cabinet. This oil is also great for just some of the following things: treating sore muscles, dental problems, pain relief and antibacterial properties.
Use this great smelling oil for things such as upset stomach, headaches and freshening your breath. It is also used for boosting energy and releasing tight muscles, this would make it a perfect massage oil.
This oil has been used to reduce fevers. As the other oils I mentioned, it has more then one use. Use it as a flea repellent, insect repellent, indigestion or heart burn
As I said there is so many out there. I specifically picked the 6 above to tell you about, because I have found a great kit with all these oils in it. It is available on Amazon and for $15.95 you will receive all 6 bottles. The bottles are 10 ml in size. These particular oils are from Ethereal Wellness.
• 100% PURE CERTIFIED ESSENTIAL OILS – These are pure PREMIUM QUALITY authentic essential oils. Certified by the GMPC (Good Manufacturing Practice of Cosmetic) and conforming to IFRA (International Fragrance Association) purity standards – Rest assured you will LOVE this set.
While I am really starting to love oils and am a believer in their benefits, I am by no means a doctor. If you are having severe symptoms, I would always suggest seeing your family doctor first. But these are always great to have on hand in a pinch.

When you are on a budget, coupons can make the difference between hot dogs and steak, used or new.
It used to be that coupons were only found in magazines or papers. You cut them out, went to the store, got the item and handed them to the cashier. At least that is all I knew about coupons growing up.
Now there is ways to use coupons that can literally take your total purchase from $100.00 – $20.00 in a matter of scans. There is also things like price matching, digital coupons, double coupons and stacking coupons and that is only naming a few.
While some of you could probably teach me a lot about extreme couponing, there is other people that are like me and late in the game. With those people, I wanted to share some coupon basics.
1. Find a coupon organizer.
This can be one you make yourself or a store bought one. As long as it makes it easy for you, that is all that matters.
2. Start collecting your coupons.
Sunday papers is always the best place to start. They are full of coupons! Be sure and ask your family to save any papers or magazines they may have. This is a good start.
You can also find coupons at the store. Stores are now using machines on the aisles, be sure and grab them as you are in there. Even if you aren’t purchasing that item at that moment, you may want to later. I have been known to lay coupons I don’t want, next to the product on a shelf for customers. Watch out for other people to do that.
Another way to find coupons is by searching the internet. Going to the companies websites and printing them out. Another tip might be to like a companies Facebook page. They sometimes give special coupons.
You can always email/write a company and request coupons. Sometimes they are more then happy to send coupons and special offers to people that take the time to reach out to them.
3. Organize your coupons.
This could be a whole post in itself! You have to figure out a system that works best for you. A lot of people just use regular 3 ring binders that they can carry to the store with them. No matter what system you are using, you might want to make sure that you have categories for coupons and file them by expiration dates.
4. Sign up for loyalty cards
Most stores offer these now and they can save you quite a bit. These even can lead you to the new world of digital couponing. That is where you sign in to a site with your loyalty card and add the coupons right to it. Once your at the store, and the cashier scans your card, those coupons go off instantly. One tip I would strong advise on adding digital coupons to your card, is to write what you add down. The size, the name brand. If you get the wrong thing, your coupon isn’t going to work right.
5. Learn different ways to use coupons.
You first need to find out which stores double and even triple coupons. This is where the store takes your .75 cent coupon and takes off $1.50 or more if they triple. The only thing you have to do when doing this is finding out the stores that do this, the time and day they do this and if they have a special policy. Some stores do restrict the amount of same coupons you can use at one time. For example if you bought 5 sunday papers and are using all 5 coupons on double coupon day, they may only allow you to get double off the first 3.
For example. You have a coupon for .50 off of paper towels from the Sunday paper. You also have a .50 coupon from the company for that same roll of paper towels. Some stores will allow you to use both of those coupons at the same time. This is different then double coupons, but you can get a $1.00 roll of paper towels for free when using this method.
While there is much much more to learn about the coupon world, too much info at once tends to get overwhelming. At least for me. I will stop here for today. I do hope you can take something valuable away from this post.
Do You Coupon? If so, be sure and add any tips, comments or suggestions in the comment section below. This Shopping Wife always loves hearing from you Shopping Wives!
