(Attention: Women) Don’t forget to give yourself a gift this busy season!

What is your typical day like?  Some of us work outside of the home, some of us work in the home.  It doesn’t matter if you are a lawyer, a doctor, a mother, a waitress etc.  Add the holidays to your daily routine and not only are you:  Wife, mother, career woman, housekeeper, plus a few other titles – You instantly take on the role as:  Hostess, shopper,  Well to make it simple, you become Wonder Woman, not that you are not already a wonderful woman year round!

What several people doesn’t understand is that us wonder women, get stressed out and burnt out too. The only one that can prevent that from happening is YOU! 

How can you prevent this from happening?  It is simple.  Take time for yourself.  Add your own name to your own Christmas list.  I am not saying you should go out and buy yourself a new fur coat or anything extreme like that.  What I am saying is gift your self some YOU time. 

“You time” is a time during the day where you can be totally alone and only think of yourself and your needs.  That isn’t shallow.  You need this. 

How can you possibly arrange this?

Pencil yourself in!

Are you out shopping?  In between stores stop off for a massage or pedicure.

Do you work all day?  That shouldn’t be a problem.  Most places give you at least an hour lunch.  There is many things you can do in that hour.  Things simple as going to your favorite coffee shop and reading a good book.

Do you have kids at home all day?  Ask a friend or family member to come over and watch the kids for just a few minutes. If that is not possible, while the kids are napping you could find some alone time.   Give yourself an overdue facial.  Just sit on the couch and stare into space.  The goal here is clearing your mind and resting your body from everything that is going on right now.

If you can take a whole day to yourself then go for it.  That would be awesome!  Chances are you can’t.  But most of us can find 30 minutes at some point in the day to do things like:

  1. Paint your nails
  2. Take a bubble bath
  3. Read a book
  4. Put on makeup
  5. Write in a journal
  6. Take a walk
  7. Watch a movie or favorite program

Just remember you are worth it, and you deserve it.  Stay positive.  Try and find the good in everything that is going on around you.

Remember negative people you may encounter while out this season, normally have some underlying reason they are acting the way they are.  Try and remember that, kill them with kindness. 

Take a lesson away from everything and everybody you encounter. There is always a learning experience in everything! 

When you wake up, look into the Mirror, smile and say “I love you beautiful, You are worth this!”.
